Speak up about PolyMet

All Minnesota citizens should submit comments to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers about the PolyMet Draft Environmental Impact Statement. You can do so quickly and easily using the form below.

The PolyMet DEIS describes significant environmental issues associated with this proposed mine. These issues should be resolved before this mine is permitted by the responsible state and federal agencies. (Read the DEIS at the DNR’s website.)

Update 4:30 p.m., Feb. 3, 2010 -The public comment period for the PolyMet DEIS is now closed. Please see this announcement about the detailed analysis of the mine proposal by the Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness and its experts.

Citing numerous flaws with the environmental review and the proposal, the organization has recommended the “No Action” alternative until significant issues are addressed to protect taxpayers, clean water and human health. A link to our full comments i included at this link.
